The Greatest War Ever Won

Before Adam, on earth, was placed

The older brother showed His grace

He offered His life for each dear child

With a heart humble and mild.

Prophets foretold of His holy birth

Long before He came to earth.

Born to a mother pure and sweet

His mission of love to complete.

Satan knew he could not win

So he tempts us to commit sin.

His weak attempts to foil God’s plan

Will never stop The Son Of Man!

In the Garden Jesus bled

From every pore his blood was shed.

Upon the cross his body nailed

While evil men His life assailed.

Sunday came on the third day

Sin and death, both He did slay!

With His resurrected frame

Satan now had lost the game!

So don’t lose hope or faith in Him

His light and power will never dim!

To Him we need to turn our core

Our God and captain won the war

Scourging Soldier

They brought him to receive his stripes
The sorrow in his eyes so ripe
Thirty nine was all he bore
The law said there could be no more.

My duty was to do this task
I just obeyed and did not ask.
No words of anger passed his lips
His mouth stayed closed, he did not quip.

Blood ran down his fresh torn flesh
Leaving wounds raw and fresh.
I placed a robe upon his back
To mock him in a last attack.

My time on earth is now complete
I find myself at this Man’s feet.
No anger came from His pure heart
Just perfect love from the very start.

He suffered all he did for me
The one who beat him endlessly.
My tears now freely left my face
As I felt his perfect grace.

For this reason he did come
To save us all, yes everyone.
Willingly he suffered all
And redeemed us from the fall!

Sacred Emblems of His Love

In an upper room they met
For the Last Supper they would get.
Twelve apostles began the night
But one would leave and snuff his light.

Our savior knelt upon the ground
His blood was spilt without a sound.
Three times He asked, can this cup pass?
He then fulfilled God’s will at last.

They scourged his body with delight
In hopes they would put out His light.
His cross He carried up the hill
And all his blood would finally spill.

It was finished, Christ’s work was done
He atoned as God’s begotten son.
The world cried out in anguished pain
For its creator they had slain.

Wrapped in linen he was placed
Laid in a tomb and stone encased.
All seemed lost and full of fear
For Jesus was no longer near.

Sunday came with perfect light
The Son of Man had won the fight.
Death was conquered, as was sin
Jesus Christ was whole again.

Recall each week when we partake
Of all He did for all our sakes.
His broken body and blood shed
Are in the water and the bread.

The greatest love the world has known
To all mankind Jesus has shown.
Keep our focus on His Love
And our eternal home above.

No Time To Waste

We’ve heard the words since we were young

So much that they fall from the tongue.

The Second Coming is at hand

We must prepare and take a stand.

Many years since then have passed

With the world degrading fast.

He really will be here again.

That day will be a perfect ten.

The prophets tell us to prepare

Do we not even really care?

God’s promises are always sure.

It’s imminent our hearts are pure.

The adversary knows his time is short

He’s never been the fair fight sort.

His wicked angels work non stop.

Hoping we just quit and drop.

His Second Coming will be soon

And we’ll all sing a different tune.

For those who’ve followed His true road.

That day removes your heavy load.

We truly have no time to waste

So much to do and do with haste.

Our hearts and minds need to be clear.

For Jesus Christ will soon be here!

Why Not Me

A tribute to Taiana I.K. Brown

A precious daughter sweet and pure
Sought to make her knowledge sure.
Trials came along her path
She learned to trust God’s perfect math.

She always had a smile for all
And two thumbs up while standing tall.
She kept her covenants faithfully
So with her God she’d always be.

Her godly worth she always knew
Her heart was pure and ever true.
She understood God’s plan for her
That God provides the only cure.

Her faith and service were divine
You’d think that everything was fine.
She now serves our Heavenly king
And to Him praises she does sing.

She never did bemoan her state
She knew all things would soon be great.
She never asked “how could this be”
But always stated “Why not me”.
