Long before anyone was born
We stood in council with our Lord.
One brother sought to be our God
God chose Jesus, we did applaud.
All the prophets spoke of Him
His mercy, grace, would never dim.
All who followed His commands
Wouldn’t suffer all that law demands.
God then would send His only son
Born to a virgin, the only one.
He grew up teaching all he knew
Of how to live and what to do.
His love of truth hardened hearts
From old ways many would not part.
Many chose His heavy road
Yoked with Christ to bear the load.
On to the olive press he went
To complete why He was sent.
Suff’ring all for you and me
He knew that’s how it had to be.
Nailed to a cross on Calvary
“My God, why did you forsake me?”
His mission done, His body spent
To His father, He now went.
They placed His body in a tomb
It now became a sacred room.
Mother earth cried violently
Her creator, gone was He.
Sunday came as it always does.
An empty tomb, now it was.
Our Savior rose on the third day.
His Atonement paved the way.
Never can we comprehend
That what He did will never end.
Grateful we should ever be
So we will ever live with Thee.
