The world attempts this everyday
To force my hand and make me pay.
Screaming loudly in my ear
Hoping I will live in fear.
I will not bend to ease the pain
Or shelter from the driving rain.
I chose this rocky, stormy road
Knowing it won’t ease my load.
One thing I know and understand
I’m in the palm of God’s right hand.
The world may see me all alone
But Christ for me, he did atone.
My strength is waning, nearly gone
I wait in patience for the dawn.
The savior’s arms are open wide
To save me from the surging tide.
To the world it seems too much
They only see me with a crutch.
Little do they understand
The crutch of Jesus makes me stand.
Mocking those who choose the right
The world believes they’ve won the fight.
The war we fight is not in vain
God is the victor, He will remain.
If I have to, I will stand
Alone, it seems, just like they planned.
But soon their eyes will open wide
And see the Savior at my side.
I never left you all alone
I am the everlasting stone.
You overcame the world’s scorn
And now with me you are reborn.
