Repair Our Temple

Standing strong for many years
Built with blood and many tears
Hewn from granite pure and raw
Within its wall we’re taught God’s law.

Time does not respect the stone
It wears away down to the bone.
Walls and bedrock weaken with time
We must restore with hearts sublime.

We must do this with our own life
Repent and stay away from strife.
This process many times is long
But in the end will make us strong.

A change of heart requires pain
Just as flowers need the rain.
Just as plants start from a hole
We all will blossom and be whole.

As we become a better child
Our hurts will turn and become mild.
We will look back on what was done
And give all glory to God’s son.

This temple that is in repair
Will one day be beyond compare.
The same will be for our own soul
For Jesus Christ paid the full toll.

What a grand day that will be
With my own eyes, the Christ I see.
Changed by His atoning blood
My tears will flow as if a flood!
