Embrace The Cross

Jesus lived a perfect life
Yet it was filled with so much strife.
From those who followed him each day
To those who wanted him to pay.

He suffered at the hands of men
They struck him time and time again.
They made him carry His own cross
His followers thought all was lost.

They led him up to Calvary’s hill
Where his atonement He’d fulfill.
Nailed to the cross both hands and feet
He hung there ‘til it was complete.

He asks of us to follow him
Pick up your cross, not just a shim.
Carry it with a heart replete
Your Joy in Christ will be complete.

Joy In Adversity

Life is hard, that’s what we’re told

Let me explain, to be so bold.

Those that shy away from pain

Will never grow and that’s a shame.

Hard work brings the greatest joy

Much more than the world’s best toy.

Why is that, you may sometimes ask

Because rewards come from the task.

Think about your daily life

All your trouble and your strife.

Overcoming all these things

Will bring you joy, enough to sing.

Muscles when exercised do tear

And become stronger in repair.

Our lives are filled with searing pain

And pushing through, joy we’ll gain.

Jesus Christ is the perfect role

Of who to follow with our soul.

His sacrifice for each of us

Helps us repent and that’s a plus.

Life was never meant to be

An easy path for you and me.

God has a plan for each dear child

Just trust Him, and be not beguiled.

When all this life comes to an end

We’ll understand why God can’t bend.

He has so much to teach us now

We must put hands to the plow.

Harvest time is coming soon

And joy will be the winning tune.

Your dedication to God’s way

Ensures eternal life’s your pay!

I Am His Son

I do not have to choose the wrong

Each time a choice does come along.

I have within my human heart

Divinity right from the start.

Nothing can change my DNA

I am Child of God I say!

Born with godly inheritance

I’ll side with God, that is my stance.

The devil’s glory can’t exist

For he did shake at God his fist.

His plan was always a great lie

It’s like he didn’t even try

I’m grateful God chose Jesus Christ

His atonement wasn’t overpriced.

The price he paid for everyone

Was for me too, for I’m God’s son.

Obedience, The First Law Of Heaven

Obey the Lord is the first law

All the other ones come next.

If we don’t follow the first one

Our lives will be without context.

Following the Savior’s way

Is the only path to take.

It will lead us surely home

Please follow Jesus for your sake.

The things that we are asked to do

Create for us a sacred space

And from that place of mercy sweet

We learn of God and of His grace.

Obedience is never wrong

As long as truth is on your side.

The blessings come for those that wait

For God will always turn the tide.

The Eagle Never Dies

The great bald eagle stands supreme

As our flag of liberty

It is the king of all the air

All it wants is to be free.

He guards our country from on high

From enemies both grand and small.

He can’t protect us all alone

We have to help him not to fall.

Our country seems to be mislead

By those who want us bound in chains.

I’ll fight for freedom everyday

As long as blood is in my veins.

I would rather die today

Than live a single day enslaved.

Freedom comes with a massive price

With blood and tears, that road is paved.

This country that we have today

Was born from many’s sacrifice.

The giving of their sacred lives

Demands I honor that great price.

One day soon we all will see

Those who gave us everything.

The eagle can remind us all

We must fight on, let freedom ring.

Plant the Seed

I saw a seed along the road
I picked it up to take with me.
This seed I had would need great care
It must be sowed to be a tree.
Choose the soil most carefully
That’s most important for the seed.
Without good dirt the seed will die
Or be choked out by many weeds.
Water and light the seed will need
If it’s to grow and reach its peak.
Just the right amount of both
Ensures it’s strong, and never weak.
As you care for this dear plant
It will become part of your heart.
Care for it with grace and love
Fruit from the tree it will impart.
The fruit it bears is pure and sweet
That you would share with everyone.
The more you share the more you have.
That is the blessing of God’s Son.
This seed has given you a gift
Of everlasting grace and love.
Because you cared with your whole soul
You’ll have your place in Heav’n above.

Christ is everything…Satan is nothing!

The devil never will show love
He only wants to yell and shove.
Telling you that you’re no good
Always living in the “should”.
You’re too skinny, you’re too fat
Why don’t you hit me with a bat.
Those words like daggers pierce the heart
Spilling blood right from the start.
The devil only wants for you
His misery and all his woe.
The choice is yours to live or die
Follow Christ, not Satan’s lie.
Christ is always on our side
Helping us to check our pride.
Pride is one thing we don’t need
If on Christ’s words, we always feed.
Paying for our sins alone
Jesus Christ for me atoned
His sacrifice was not in vain
As He removed my sinful stain.
Now I must do my own part
And call on Jesus from my heart.
I’ll always be within His debt
His promise He has always kept.
He does not want us to repay
His love and grace will never stray.
We only need to follow Him
So that our light will never dim.

Repair Our Temple

Standing strong for many years
Built with blood and many tears
Hewn from granite pure and raw
Within its wall we’re taught God’s law.

Time does not respect the stone
It wears away down to the bone.
Walls and bedrock weaken with time
We must restore with hearts sublime.

We must do this with our own life
Repent and stay away from strife.
This process many times is long
But in the end will make us strong.

A change of heart requires pain
Just as flowers need the rain.
Just as plants start from a hole
We all will blossom and be whole.

As we become a better child
Our hurts will turn and become mild.
We will look back on what was done
And give all glory to God’s son.

This temple that is in repair
Will one day be beyond compare.
The same will be for our own soul
For Jesus Christ paid the full toll.

What a grand day that will be
With my own eyes, the Christ I see.
Changed by His atoning blood
My tears will flow as if a flood!

Unite with Christ

Satan’s working overtime

Because he knows he’s out of time.

He knows he’s lost his bitter war

He hates us all to the core.

You are not the same as me

You’re not as good as me, you see.

You are poor in worldly things

Nothing of value you did bring.

Your skin not the shade of mine

You’ll never be the one to shine.

Don’t bother trying to improve

Just stay there and never move.

These are lies the devil speaks

To make us think that we are weak.

He cannot take from us one thing

We are God’s children, He’s the King.

God is always here for us

And that is always a big plus.

Always trust in God’s own Son

He is the everlasting one.

He asks of us to follow Him

And never let our bright light dim.

If our faith is sure and fast

Our lot with Him is forever cast!

The life’s goal is a simple task

What could that be, you may ask.

Love each other with your heart

Unite with Christ and do your part.

We must see with God’s pure eyes

And leave behind the devil’s lies.

Jesus Christ, the one true Lord

Unites us all in one accord.

The Cure For The World. Matthew 5:9-11, 43-44

Peace is not for the faint of heart

We must always do our part.

That goal is not an easy one

But when it’s reached we will have won.

If you strive for peace each day

Far from God you will not stray.

You will be called His precious child

Your heart is now pure and mild.

Stand for right in all we do

The word of God is always true.

The devil says to always fight

They are wrong and I am right.

We all know and understand

That good will win and ever stand.

Your reward in Heaven will be

More than you know, you will see.

The natural man is prone to hate

Always lurking at the gate.

He wants to hurt and cause you pain

And never clean your mortal stain.

Seek to honor He who died

Do not forsake me, Jesus cried.

Jesus did all this for me.

So we with him could always be.

Pray for those who wish you harm

That they may gather in God’s arm.

Bless your enemy with love

And you’ll secure your place above.

Those that use you for their gain

Someday will know all that pain.

I pray they turn to God’s own son

So with their Lord they can be one.

I'll Stand Alone...If I Have To

The world attempts this everyday

To force my hand and make me pay.

Screaming loudly in my ear

Hoping I will live in fear.

I will not bend to ease the pain

Or shelter from the driving rain.

I chose this rocky, stormy road

Knowing it won’t ease my load.

One thing I know and understand

I’m in the palm of God’s right hand.

The world may see me all alone

But Christ for me, he did atone.

My strength is waning, nearly gone

I wait in patience for the dawn.

The savior’s arms are open wide

To save me from the surging tide.

To the world it seems too much

They only see me with a crutch.

Little do they understand

The crutch of Jesus makes me stand.

Mocking those who choose the right

The world believes they’ve won the fight.

The war we fight is not in vain

God is the victor, He will remain.

If I have to, I will stand

Alone, it seems, just like they planned.

But soon their eyes will open wide

And see the Savior at my side.

I never left you all alone

I am the everlasting stone.

You overcame the world’s scorn

And now with me you are reborn.

Zeal For Jesus

must not follow carelessly

The path that Christ laid out for me.

If I desire to live with Him

My cross I must pick up, you see.

Change my heart to do His will

That is my solemn, one desire.

If I can master my own soul

My heart will ever burn with fire.

The gifts that wait for you and me

Compare with nothing on this earth.

One of the things He teaches me

We are to Him, of greatest worth.

I chose to follow Jesus Christ

So bear I must what life will bring.

The trials and troubles we endure

Will take us back to Christ the King.
