My Dream Home
You have seen them many times
On the shore or mountain side.
Built with all the finest things
These mansions built with so much pride.
All the mansions that are built
Will, at some point, become dust.
No matter how we build the house
It will not last, that is a must.
So focus on a different home
One that’s not of earthly stone.
Work to have a home with God
And worship him upon His throne.
Your mansion was prepared for you
When Jesus walked upon the earth.
Because you chose to follow him
You learned from Him your godly worth.
Even though it’s not yet seen
Your mansion’s waiting for you there.
Filled with God’s pure holy light
This is your home, so please prepare.
Emily's Gift
The day that Emily was born
Her mom and dad received a gift.
A loving daughter sent from God
To share His love, to all uplift.
Contagious was her love for all
She spent her time with those in need.
She understood God’s gift to her
And served mankind with heavn’ly speed.
Five young spirits joined her here
In a home with precious love.
She taught them with a loving heart
They felt God’s love from up above.
Now she watches each dear child
From a glorious celestial climb.
Just know she’s there to squeeze your hand
For she’s your angel for all time.
The time you have apart from her
Will make your bond as strong as steel.
She’s helping Father prep your home
Then you’ll feel love beyond what’s real!

Anvil of Adversity
He took that piece of metal raw
And placed it in the roaring flame.
It turned bright red, is what I saw
Would now the blacksmith the metal blame?
What was wrong with how I was
A rod of metal clean and strong
I did not understand his cause
I only wanted to belong.
Time and time again he smote
Upon the anvil with such force.
The pain was great, he seemed to gloat
I screamed until my voice was hoarse.
Soon the hammering did cease
I thought the pain was done for sure.
That reprieve was a short lease
The grinding came to make me pure.
How could it be worse than the forge
I turned to look into his eyes.
His love removed the sting by George
I soon would be a worthy prize.
Polishing the finished blade
Was all that He had left to do.
Through all my suffering I was made
It all was worth what I went through.
What started with such piercing pain
On the anvil of adversity
I did not know what I would gain
I had become what God did see!
Pain is a Priviledge
I walked into the local gym
Thinking I could just be him.
He looked like he was made of steel
I wanted to know how that would feel.
I wished to be as fit as he
But nothing changed for poor old me.
Wishing without work will fail
A timeless honored truthful tale.
Pain is what that man went through
To get the form he held on to.
Any growth that we strive for
Will come with pain that is for sure.
Be grateful for the pains we have
They can be such a healing salve.
We learn humility and grace
Pain turns our heart to seek God’s face.
Pain is a privilege we endure
To make us strong and godly pure.
Choose to view pain differently
And then you’ll see what God does see.

Golden Buzzer
I came and stood before my King
My heart was all that I could bring.
I saw with detail my whole life
It seemed to have a lot of strife.
There is no way I’m getting in
I’ve made too many evil sins.
I felt His eyes look in my heart
He spoke the words, “You did your part.”
You kept your eyes fixed on the prize
And heeded not the devil’s lies.
You did not need to do it all
I’m always here when you do call.
My life had passed before my eyes
I knew my fate, ‘‘twas no surprise.
I fully thought this was the end
I messed up good, God could not bend.
Was then my Savior stood for me
“You loved my children selflessly”
This Golden Buzzer is for you
The gates are open, come on through.

Book Of Mormon Poems
Nephi had a righteous dad
Who taught him all the right from wrong.
Lehi was his father’s name
He praised his God with prayer and song.
Lehi taught the people truth
They did not like what he did teach.
Wicked men tried many things
To make him leave and never preach.
God came to Lehi in a dream
“Take your family far from here.
I have for you a promised land
A land of gold and rivers clear.”
Leaving all they had behind
They headed out into the night.
Not knowing where they had to go
They knew that God would be their light.
Chapter Two
Many days they walked in sand
Until they reached a riverbed.
Tents had now become their homes.
The ground was where they laid their heads.
Laman and Lemuel were not nice
They did not want to leave their home.
They left their silver and their gold
Into the wilderness to roam.
“Be like the river and be true,”
He said to Laman the oldest one.
“Be as firm as this valley floor,”
He asked of Lemuel his second son.
Morning came with welcome news,
“The Lord has told you to return.
Go back and get the plates of brass
That from their pages we may learn.”
Lehi bemoaned for his oldest sons
Because he knew that they would whine.
Nephi told him he would go.
He knew that God would make it fine.
Laman picked the shorter straw
To get the plates from Laban’s hand.
“Please let us take the plates of brass”
Then Laban yelled and Laman ran.
“What can we do to get the plates?
We can’t go back with empty hands.
Let’s take our silver and our gold;
Go back to Laban and make our stand.”
Laban saw what the brothers brought.
“I want it all for my very own.
You cannot have the plates of brass,”
And from his house he had them thrown.
Running from guards that Laban sent
They left behind their gold and pride.
Once outside the city walls
They found a place where they could hide.
Laman and Lemuel were very mad
They yelled at Sam and Nephi, too.
They found a stick upon the ground
And beat them both, what could they do?
An angel came down from above
“Why do you beat your brothers so?
Nephi’s been chosen to lead you
Because of his good works, you know.”
“Return and get the plates of brass;
God will provide the path to take.”
The Lord is stronger than all men
He will not fail, nor us forsake.
Nephi was the one to go.
He trusted God to show the way.
He walked along a darkened path
“Please guide me to the plates, I pray.”
He came upon a fallen man.
Laban was drunk and fast asleep.
He now was in Nephi’s hands.
The price he paid was very steep.
The Lord commanded, “Take his life.”
But Nephi shuddered at the thought.
Never have I shed man’s blood
For that is what I have been taught.
The Spirit whispered yet again,
“This you must do to save thy seed.”
He took the sword at Laban’s side
And took a life filled with much greed.
Nephi put on Laban’s clothes;
Went to his home to get the plates.
Zoram asked, “What do you need?”
“Bring the plates to the city gates!”
Zoram followed Nephi’s command,
Since Nephi appeared as Laban did.
Once outside the city wall
Nephi’s brothers ran and hid.
They thought their brother had been killed.
Nephi told them, “Do not flee.”
Zoram didn’t know what to think,
Nephi told Zoram you will be free.
Chapt 3
Lehi dreamed a beautiful dream
He saw a tree with fruit so white.
The fruit, it was so very sweet,
More precious than even air or light.
“Where’s my fam’ly? They too must eat!”
Nephi, Sam and Sariah came,
But Laman and Lemuel would not come.
Their lives would never be the same.
An iron rod led to the tree
Where one could eat the precious fruit.
Many would not touch the rod;
God’s love for them did not take root.
Hands were placed upon the rod
And soon they ate fruit of that tree.
The world looked down with shame and scorn
That they did turn from good and flee.
But there were those who would not bend;
They kept their eye upon the prize.
Holding fast to the iron rod,
They would not hear the devil’s lies.
The fruit was full of God’s pure love
It filled their hearts forever more.
Now they knew and understood
That God had opened heaven’s door.
Chapt 4
Morning brought a curious gift
It only worked if we obeyed.
The curious ball was made of brass
Surely God’s hand, this ball, had made.
We gathered all we had and left
Four long days we traveled south.
We pitched our tents to make our home
We went to hunt, to fill the mouth.
The hunt had only just begun
When Nephi’s bow and arrow broke.
The older brothers’ anger stirred
Murmuring words were all they spoke.
Lehi also did complain
Nephi begged them to repent.
The Lord did chasten all who sinned
Until their prayers were heaven sent.
Nephi asked where he should go
To gather food to feed his kin.
The curious compass showed the path
Where food would be for him to win.
Chapt 5
For eight long years they traveled far
Until they reached a beautiful sea.
The land they called it Bountiful
Because it gave them all their needs.
The Lord spoke to Nephi once again
“Climb up to the mountain peak.”
“Build a ship to carry all,
I’ll teach you how, so it won’t leak”
Nephi asked God where to go
To find the ore, to make the tools.
Tools were made to build a ship
His brothers said he was a fool.
Nephi taught his brothers once again
Reminding them of blessings past.
The Lord can show me how to build
A ship to cross the oceans vast.
The wicked brothers had a plan
“Let us throw Nephi in the sea.”
Nephi stretched out his righteous arm
And shocked his brothers thoroughly.
The wicked brothers changed their hearts
They with Nephi built the boat.
Now complete in every way
The ship was ready now to float.
Filled with food to last the trip
The unknown journey had begun
Guided by the compass ball
They trusted in God’s holy son.
Laman and others soon forgot
That they must always righteous be.
With prideful hearts they took control
Of the ship upon the sea.
They tied up Nephi to the mast
So they could have their evil way.
Storms came up and drove them back
The fear of dying saved the day.
Freed from his bonds, Nephi did pray
That God would spare them from their graves.
The storm did cease and all were safe
God is the only one who saves.
Sailing on for many months
The promised land was now in sight.
They pitched their tents and planted seeds
Future days looked very bright.
Chapt 6
Nephi taught men to follow Christ
In all we say and all we do.
Christ was baptized to obey
In all he did he did stay true.
Is it one step that we must take
To reach our heavenly home above?
The perfect son taught us to endure
So we can feel our Father’s love.
Christ is the only way back home
No other way will get you there.
Reading scriptures every day
Along with humble, honest prayer.
Believe the words of this great book
They are the Savior’s words, I know.
They teach us to be righteous men
That we will always learn and grow.
Chapt 7
Jacob was the next to write
The words of God on plates of gold.
He was a righteous, holy man
The things he taught will now be told.
To the temple Jacob went
To share the word revealed by God.
Up to now they had obeyed
But some did slip from the iron rod.
The Lord has blessed you with so much
Why do you fail to keep his laws?
I wish I did not have to preach
And point out all your faults and flaws.
Your wives and children are so pure
But now you’ve caused them so much pain.
Tender hearts now break in two
Because you chose to sin again.
Chapt 8
Enos went into the woods to hunt
His father’s words touched his heart.
He knelt in humble, honest prayer
He knew he had to do his part.
He wrestled deep within himself
To find the place where peace begins.
God spoke to Enos peacefully
“Forgiven now are all thy sins.”
Enos knew God could not lie
He now was free from guilt and sin.
His faith in Christ who was not born
Allowed his new life to begin.
Feeling God’s pure love for him
He wanted that for his enemies.
He knelt and asked in humble prayer
And God would hear his righteous pleas.

Nephi's Plea
To tempt me to commit a sin.
His only wish for you and me
To wallow in anger and misery.
I know in whom I place my trust
In God above, that is a must.
We must always stay awake
So we don’t make the same mistake.
Refuse to give in to his lies
For those that do will surely die.
Choose to follow God’s holy son
And then with Him we can be one.
Rejoice, rejoice in God’s pure love
It’s the only thing I am sure of.
The scars we have for standing strong
Jesus will heal and they’ll be gone.
The day will come when all is right
For we will stand in God’s pure light.
All of the pains we have endured
Will be forgotten for they are cured.
Father's Day
A tribute to our dads and say:
“You’re the best dad on the earth”
And let him know of his great worth.
But on this day I wish to praise
The seven children we did raise.
You truly are God’s gift to me
And for your joyful lives I plea.
You all have trials everyday
Just know that God will hear you pray.
I am nothing without y’all
And your sweet mom completes it all!
You are the reason I pursue
What I must do to remain true.
I know I’m not the perfect dad
But I’m all you got so that’s too bad!
Love your Dad!!

Holy Week
Palm Sunday came as prophesied
Upon a donkey Jesus rode.
Into Jerusalem he came
Fulfilling prophecy long foretold.
Monday the temple was defiled
As many came to sell their goods.
Jesus cried out “why do ye this”
He ran them out just as he should.
Tuesday Jesus taught His truths
Some clearly did not understand.
Love each other like I have
And I will make your life so grand.
Wednesday was spent in Bethany
With friends and family one last time.
The coming days would be extreme
His sacrifice would be sublime.
Thursday Night he supped with twelve
But one would break a sacred trust.
Into the Garden he would go
And suffer all, he knew he must.
Judas came with evil men
With 30 pieces sold his king.
Like a lamb He freely went
To all, salvation would he bring.
Friday saw him whipped and scourged
A purple robe and crown of thorns
Never did poison leave his lips
“For this purpose was I born”.
Led up a hill, nailed to a cross
His work was finished, it was done.
The earth cried out and storms did rage.
They killed God’s only perfect son.
Saturday was an awful day
The savior of the world was gone.
All hope, it seems, was far away
Sunday was coming with the dawn.
Sunday an empty tomb was found
Angels proclaimed “He is not here”
The Savior of the world, he lives!
He kept His promise, that is clear!
What joy did fill their longing hearts
As one by one His wounds they felt.
His sacrifice was now complete
As at his feet they wept and knelt.
The day is coming soon again
When we will touch his sacred hands.
I pray our hearts are ready then
To praise His name from every land!
He is our Savior that I know
I choose to follow him each day.
The great rewards we will receive
Will be an eternal sacred pay!
