Holy Week

Palm Sunday came as prophesied

Upon a donkey Jesus rode.

Into Jerusalem he came

Fulfilling prophecy long foretold.

Monday the temple was defiled

As many came to sell their goods.

Jesus cried out “why do ye this”

He ran them out just as he should.

Tuesday Jesus taught His truths

Some clearly did not understand.

Love each other like I have

And I will make your life so grand.

Wednesday was spent in Bethany

With friends and family one last time.

The coming days would be extreme

His sacrifice would be sublime.

Thursday Night he supped with twelve

But one would break a sacred trust.

Into the Garden he would go

And suffer all, he knew he must.

Judas came with evil men

With 30 pieces sold his king.

Like a lamb He freely went

To all, salvation would he bring.

Friday saw him whipped and scourged

A purple robe and crown of thorns

Never did poison leave his lips

“For this purpose was I born”.

Led up a hill, nailed to a cross

His work was finished, it was done.

The earth cried out and storms did rage.

They killed God’s only perfect son.

Saturday was an awful day

The savior of the world was gone.

All hope, it seems, was far away

Sunday was coming with the dawn.

Sunday an empty tomb was found

Angels proclaimed “He is not here”

The Savior of the world, he lives!

He kept His promise, that is clear!

What joy did fill their longing hearts

As one by one His wounds they felt.

His sacrifice was now complete

As at his feet they wept and knelt.

The day is coming soon again

When we will touch his sacred hands.

I pray our hearts are ready then

To praise His name from every land!

He is our Savior that I know

I choose to follow him each day.

The great rewards we will receive

Will be an eternal sacred pay!

Jesus Has Already Healed Us All

In a setting long ago

Our eldest brother made a choice.

He chose to be our one savior

And be our mediating voice.

Many years would have to pass

Before His birth in Bethlehem.

His coming to the world was told

By all the prophets in Jerusalem.

His pure atonement saved us all

From endless death and misery.

He always did his father’s will

Which led him nailed upon a tree.

The beauty of this greatest act

Saved many souls before complete.

Because he finished this great work

Both death and Hell he would defeat.

Our pain and suffering paid in full

By Jesus Christ our Lord and King.

The greatest act of love was done

And so to Him our praises sing.

The day is coming soon at last

When all our suffering has an end.

Stay faithful to the Son of God

Until the day each knee will bend.

How great the day when He returns

To govern all with perfect love.

Each child of God will speak His name

And live with Him in Heav’n above!

Warrior of Light

Duncan Farris was ordained

To be a warrior for his King.

His heart belongs to Jesus Christ

His praises Duncan always sings.

The fight for truth has been his cause

To honor God and this great land.

Never has he shied away.

Ready to always take a stand.

God holds him in his precious hand

As we offer fervent prayer.

God will be done as in all things.

For he is in God’s perfect care.

No Longer Droop In Sin

Like Nephi seer of olden time

Life can be a very hard climb.

We know that trials will come and go.

But God’s love for us will always show.

Nephi knew in whom to trust

Trusting in the Lord was a must.

The only way to return to Him

Remove all of the worldly whims.

Nephi knew he was a sinful man

Christ paid for all, that was the plan.

The only way back to our King:

A broken heart to Him we bring.

Many times it may appear

You’re all alone but do not fear.

Our God will never forsake you

That is His promise, sure and true.

Living in the past is vain

It only causes lasting pain.

Look forward to the source of joy

And lasting peace you will enjoy.

The Greatest War Ever Won

Before Adam, on earth, was placed

The older brother showed His grace

He offered His life for each dear child

With a heart humble and mild.

Prophets foretold of His holy birth

Long before He came to earth.

Born to a mother pure and sweet

His mission of love to complete.

Satan knew he could not win

So he tempts us to commit sin.

His weak attempts to foil God’s plan

Will never stop The Son Of Man!

In the Garden Jesus bled

From every pore his blood was shed.

Upon the cross his body nailed

While evil men His life assailed.

Sunday came on the third day

Sin and death, both He did slay!

With His resurrected frame

Satan now had lost the game!

So don’t lose hope or faith in Him

His light and power will never dim!

To Him we need to turn our core

Our God and captain won the war

Scourging Soldier

They brought him to receive his stripes
The sorrow in his eyes so ripe
Thirty nine was all he bore
The law said there could be no more.

My duty was to do this task
I just obeyed and did not ask.
No words of anger passed his lips
His mouth stayed closed, he did not quip.

Blood ran down his fresh torn flesh
Leaving wounds raw and fresh.
I placed a robe upon his back
To mock him in a last attack.

My time on earth is now complete
I find myself at this Man’s feet.
No anger came from His pure heart
Just perfect love from the very start.

He suffered all he did for me
The one who beat him endlessly.
My tears now freely left my face
As I felt his perfect grace.

For this reason he did come
To save us all, yes everyone.
Willingly he suffered all
And redeemed us from the fall!

Sacred Emblems of His Love

In an upper room they met
For the Last Supper they would get.
Twelve apostles began the night
But one would leave and snuff his light.

Our savior knelt upon the ground
His blood was spilt without a sound.
Three times He asked, can this cup pass?
He then fulfilled God’s will at last.

They scourged his body with delight
In hopes they would put out His light.
His cross He carried up the hill
And all his blood would finally spill.

It was finished, Christ’s work was done
He atoned as God’s begotten son.
The world cried out in anguished pain
For its creator they had slain.

Wrapped in linen he was placed
Laid in a tomb and stone encased.
All seemed lost and full of fear
For Jesus was no longer near.

Sunday came with perfect light
The Son of Man had won the fight.
Death was conquered, as was sin
Jesus Christ was whole again.

Recall each week when we partake
Of all He did for all our sakes.
His broken body and blood shed
Are in the water and the bread.

The greatest love the world has known
To all mankind Jesus has shown.
Keep our focus on His Love
And our eternal home above.

No Time To Waste

We’ve heard the words since we were young

So much that they fall from the tongue.

The Second Coming is at hand

We must prepare and take a stand.

Many years since then have passed

With the world degrading fast.

He really will be here again.

That day will be a perfect ten.

The prophets tell us to prepare

Do we not even really care?

God’s promises are always sure.

It’s imminent our hearts are pure.

The adversary knows his time is short

He’s never been the fair fight sort.

His wicked angels work non stop.

Hoping we just quit and drop.

His Second Coming will be soon

And we’ll all sing a different tune.

For those who’ve followed His true road.

That day removes your heavy load.

We truly have no time to waste

So much to do and do with haste.

Our hearts and minds need to be clear.

For Jesus Christ will soon be here!

Why Not Me

A tribute to Taiana I.K. Brown

A precious daughter sweet and pure
Sought to make her knowledge sure.
Trials came along her path
She learned to trust God’s perfect math.

She always had a smile for all
And two thumbs up while standing tall.
She kept her covenants faithfully
So with her God she’d always be.

Her godly worth she always knew
Her heart was pure and ever true.
She understood God’s plan for her
That God provides the only cure.

Her faith and service were divine
You’d think that everything was fine.
She now serves our Heavenly king
And to Him praises she does sing.

She never did bemoan her state
She knew all things would soon be great.
She never asked “how could this be”
But always stated “Why not me”.

Integrity

Driving down the road I see

Someone driving not like me.

Do they not know how to drive

To drive like me they all should strive.

What a stupid call to make

Did the ref not see the fake?

He should be flogged for what he did

Who cares if it is just a kid.

How ironic it seems to be

That I follow Jesus casually.

It seems that I don’t understand

Cuz I live in never never land.

Integrity is fading fast

It seems that it will never last.

But as for me and what I do

Integrity must be the glue.

Jesus showed the way to live

How to love and how to give.

If we say we follow him

It must be true and not a whim.
